Ferris is the owner/founder of Anjali Hot Yatra Yoga. She received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia and a Masters degree in Human Movement Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After graduating from Chapel Hill, Ferris accepted a faculty position as Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina in the School of Physical Therapy where she taught for four years.
Ferris began a disciplined yoga practice in 2008 after discovering Hot Yatra Yoga. She studied under Allison Lindquist and received her RYT-200 in June 2012. In addition, Ferris has studied with Jnani Chapman, at Satchidananda Ashram in the Integral Yoga Teacher Program. She has completed Level 1 of training in Yoga Therapy for People with Cancer and Chronic Illness.
Ferris’s yoga classes are structured, and yet organic. She integrates her knowledge of anatomy and physiology with ancient yogic methods and philosophy to create a transformative experience for all people, regardless of their physical abilities. Ferris is excited to bring Hot Yatra Yoga to Asheville. She believes this unique form of yoga is not just about mat mechanics. She describes Hot Yatra as a pathway into our most pure self.
Ferris is a licensed Physical Therapist in both North and South Carolina, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Yoga Alliance (YA), and the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
